The Mid-Jefferson County A&M Mother's Club was organized in 1957 and the Port Arthur A&M Mother's Club was organized in 1944. In 1996 the Port Arthur Mother's Club joined the Mid-Jefferson County Mother's Club. The Mid-Jefferson County Club is in District 7 and we represent the towns of Nederland, Port Neches, Groves, and Port Arthur. The club consists of Aggie Moms who's students came from 3 area high schools. The schools are Nederland High School, Port Neches-Groves High School, and Port Arthur Memorial High School.
The purpose of the Mid-Jefferson County A&M Mother's Club is to promote interest and friendship among the members of the Texas A&M University Mothers' Clubs throughout Texas and Louisiana and the mothers of students and former students residing in the Mid Jefferson County area, and by individual and united efforts, to contribute in every way possible to the comforts and welfare of our students, cooperating with faculty of the University in maintaining high standards of morals and intellectual attainment.
Annual scholarships are awarded to members' students, contributions are given to various campus organizations, senior gifts are given yearly, and during the week of finals the club provides our students with goodie boxes. Various speakers from A&M are invited to discuss areas of interest to our members.
